Ribery Gets A Telling Off By Captain Lahm Over Behaviour

Ribery Gets A Telling Off By Captain Lahm Over Behaviour

Naughty Franck!

Franck Ribery isn't exactly the kind of guy I'd mess with, granted it's the scar on his face that makes him look like some sort of Bond villain but it would certainly take a bigger man than me to tell him off for his behaviour on the pitch.

The veteran winger is about to enter his 10 league campaign in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and has already played against Borussia Dortmund this summer in the German Super Cup but Ribery got himself in trouble during the match.

The Frenchman was seen to elbow Borussia Dortmund defender Felix Passlack during the match. The 33-year-old was a little lucky to get away with just a yellow card for the incident but it also landed him a telling off from Philipp Lahm, with the Bayern Captain telling press:

"I have told him that he should keep his hands off his opponents.

"I think he understands what I mean, but you cannot just change his character altogether, that is rather difficult.

"I just hope that things like this do not happen again in the future, but I obviously cannot guarantee anything."

The former Marseille tricky winger has already been in trouble a couple of times with the club's hierarchy recently. New manager Carlo Ancelotti told him off in pre season after a similar elbowing incident during a friendly with Inter Milan and chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge had to give him a reprimand for criticising former manager Pep Guardiola.

It's difficult enough to try and mark Ribery without being in the knowledge that he's trying to leave you with a similar scar to his using his elbows!
