Full List Of 110 Nominees For France Football’s 'Ballon d’Or Dream Team' Have Been Revealed

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona captain Lionel Messi are amongst a star-studded list of nominees for France Football's Ballon d'Or 'Dream Team.'

France Football has announced that the 2020 edition of the Ballon d'Or has been cancelled due to the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on football.

But the Ballon d'Or organisers are now planning to unveil the so-called Ballon d'Or Dream Team in December in place of its annual awards ceremony.

Journalists from 170 countries will cast their votes for nominees in the Dream Team, which will be lined up in a 3-4-3 formation.

Goalkeeper, right-back, left-back and centre-back have had 10 nominees revealed in each respective categories.

However, France Football has revealed that there are an incredible 20 defensive midfielders and 20 offensive midfielders nominated for the Dream Team.

Ronaldo, who has won the Ballon d'Or an impressive five times, is in the nominees for left wingers alongside the likes of Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs and Arsenal icon Thierry Henry.

Messi, 33, is the current outright Ballon d'Or record holder after he captured his unprecedented sixth award in 2019.

And the Argentine superstar is nominated for the right winger position alongside the likes of United icon George Best and Bayern Munich legend Arjen Robben.

France Football's full list of nominees has already been slammed by legendary former striker Samuel Eto'o, who was furious at the fact that he had been nominated for right wing over centre-forward.
