Laurent Blanc Still Not Impressed With Manchester City

Once a United player, always a United player

We get the impression Laurent Blanc is more than a bit pissed off that his overpriced ensemble of Ligue Un conquerers couldn't get the job done yet again in the Champions League.

Despite rendering the French title race pointlessly uncompetitive, PSG were left wanting on the continent for the third consecutive season at the quarter-final stage and Blanc couldn't hide his bitterness after a 76th minute Kevin De Bruyne strike sent Manchester City through 3-2 on aggregate.

"Manchester City are the guest club invited to Barcelona, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich's party."

Perhaps it's Blanc's old allegiances to Manchester United coming to the fore, but however unhappy the French manager may be with last night's result, it can't mask the fact that his side were second best from the first minute to the last against Manuel Pellegrini's City team, who advance to the Champions League semi-finals for the first time in their history.

Real Madrid are currently the only team confirmed for the semis along with City, with Bayern and Barca both facing tough tests away at Benfica and Atletico Madrid respectively, tonight.
