Laura Woods has revealed her worst post-match interview was with Jose Mourinho during his time as Tottenham Hotspur manager.

Woods is one of the best broadcasters around, but even she couldn't break down the walls of a furious Mourinho.

The Sky Sports presenter was tasked with chatting to Mourinho after he'd just watched Harry Kane have a goal disallowed. You can imagine how it went.

She told Arsenal legend Ian Wright on Wingmen: "Harry Kane had just a scored a goal that was ruled out or something like that.

"Wrighty, he was looking into my soul! He was looking into my soul and he didn't like what he saw. That's how I felt.

"Anyway, I started the interview, asking him questions and he immediately flipped it back on me and went, 'Well, what did you think?'

"And I was like, 'Right, I have to put my big-girl pants on here'.

"And I was like, 'It's not about me, it's about you. No one cares about my opinion'. [Mourinho then replied] 'Well I care, what did you think?' And I agreed with him but I just thought I had to hold my own."

Mourinho is no stranger to controversy in his post-match interviews, preferring 'not to speak' while also gloating about how many Premier League titles he's won.

The 59-year-old was sacked by Spurs last season and returned to Serie A in the summer to take over at Roma.

Woods admitted she misses Mourinho despite their awkward exchange, as she felt he was 'testing' her with his personality.

She continued: "I think he was testing me but I like him as well. I miss him when he's not around, like I miss that personality. That job, for any football fan looking in, it looks like a really simple job but it's not."

Woods then told a story about Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, claiming he was hard work during the interview then nice after it.

Roma are currently sixth in Serie A and unbeaten in their last nine league games.

Last time out they defeated bitter rivals Lazio 3-0 thanks to a Tammy Abraham brace and sensational Lorenzo Pellegrini free-kick.

They've also reached the quarter-finals of the inaugural Europa Conference League.

Victory over Lazio last Sunday came after Roma's game with Vitesse on the prior Thursday.

Mourinho got his digs in at the fixture schedule before the game by stating: "Obviously, I am not happy that we played today with many players who will also have to be there on Sunday while tonight Lazio are home smoking cigarettes with [Maurizio] Sarri, but it's because Vitesse are really good!"
