Jurgen Klopp has advised Mohamed Salah to opt for FC Barcelona rather than Real Madrid - should the forward choose to leave Liverpool one day.

With contract talks stalling between the player and his current club, a number of suitors have been touted as possible destinations in the event that nothing gets agreed.

Among the heavy favourites to land Salah in such an eventuality, would be Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

However, according to El Nacional, the Egyptian's current coach has given his opinion on who to choose - in the event of a La Liga tussle for his signature.

Klopp, as per the report, has recommended Salah to choose Barcelona over Real Madrid.

This is because the former Chelsea man would be the main man at Camp Nou, whereas he would have to battle for the spotlight with the likes of Karim Benzema - and potentially Kylian Mbappe at the Bernabeu next year.

With Barcelona looking to build their squad around a new star name after the departure of Lionel Messi, the 29-year-old could be exactly what the club is looking for.

If Klopp is already resigned to losing his star asset, El Nacional speculates that the German will look to bring in a young prender to try and develop.

Two such players of interest are thought to be Ajax winger Antony, and RB Salzburg prodigy Karim Adeyemi.

Aged 21 and 19 respectively, both have an inordinate amount of talent, although they each have a very long way to go before either could claim to be on Salah's current level.

The former Premier League golden boot winner is in the form of his life, having scored 15 goals in 12 games so far this season.

This has included two goal of the season contenders against Manchester City and Watford, as well as the forward's remarkably hat-trick at Old Trafford last weekend.
