Cristiano Ronaldo is considering a potential transfer to Manchester United or Paris Saint-Germain this summer if Juventus fail to reach the Champions League, according to reports.

Juventus' Serie A title defence appears to be effectively over as they trail league leaders Inter Milan by 13 points with five matches to play.

Juventus are currently fourth in Serie A and are level on points with third-place Napoli and fifth-place Milan.

According to Italian newspaper Tuttosport, the 36-year-old Portuguese superstar could make an early exit if Juventus fall short of Champions League qualification.

Ronaldo is keen to play in Europe's top-tier club competition and is reportedly willing to cut ties with the Italian side in the upcoming transfer window.

Juventus would also struggle to handle Ronaldo's wages without Champions League football, according to the publication.

The Portugal captain commands a staggering £1m-a-week wages and Juventus have struggled financially amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Both United and PSG are most likely to secure Champions League football next season.

The Red Devils are currently second in the Premier League and are 10 points behind league leaders Manchester City.

PSG, meanwhile, are second in Ligue 1 and are one point behind Lille in their nail-biting title defence.

Former Juventus midfielder Massimo Mauro has also hit out at the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, saying that Ronaldo has "never been a leader where he has played."
