Won't go down to well, it seems

Jose Mourinho's next move as Manchester United might not go down too well with his players.

According to the Manchester Evening News, the new United boss risks upsetting his players if he allows Juan Mata to leave the club this summer.

The Spaniard, who was sold by Mourinho at Chelsea, is believed to be a popular character in the United camp and his fellow players would like him to remain at the club.

But it is looking increasingly likely that Mata will depart Old Trafford following the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund. Mata, who was not included in Vicente Del Bosque's Spain squad for Euro 2016, is said to be happy at United but has been linked with a move to Everton.

Mourinho got rid of Mata in January 2014 when the player was visibly frustrated after being substituted in a game against Southampton. Prior to his spell under Mourinho, Mata had won the club's Player of the Year award two years on the trot.

The 28-year old is understood to not have any major problems with working with his former boss again, but he likely won't be a regular in the United side.
