N'Golo Kante has been the talk of the town since arriving in the Premier League.

His combative displays for Leicester helped the Foxes to an unimaginable Premier League title success and he was snapped up by Chelsea for £32 million, which looks like a bargain considering what he has brought to the team and the position Chelsea are in.

He's been showered with praise by pundits, teammates, managers and journalists alike and has been responsible for several pieces of play that have gone viral.

Kante is Gary Neville's choice to scoop the PFA Player of the Year gong.

He was asked about Kante on a recent episode of Monday Night Football on Sky Sports:

However, Kante remains grounded and played down talk of him deserving the coveted award at the end of the season.

Speaking to Telefoot, Kante said:

"I'm flourishing but I don't feel like the best player in the Premier League.

"There are a lot of good players. A lot of guys would deserve that title on my team."

The ever opinionated Joey Barton was asked for his opinion on Kante recently.

The Burnley midfielder, who had a spell on loan in France with Marseille, did praise the Chelsea midfielder but says he doesn't believe he is the best midfielder in the world as he isn't a "creator".

Speaking to Le Journal du Dimanche, he said:

"For pundits, he's the best midfielder in the world. That's not true. He's very good, but I played against him 3 weeks ago.

"He's a great destroyer who played in a great team, but he's not a creator. It's impossible to be so definitive with a player who hasn't played in Champions League."

Is Barton right? Is Kante deserving of the hype he is getting at the moment or is it over the top?
