Argentina avenged their Copa America Final defeat to Chile last night with a 2-1 win in Santiago. And it's a result which has now boosted their hopes of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia as they moved level on points with Paraguay in third spot.
The Argies had fought back from a goal down after Felipe Gutierrez put Chile ahead with goals from PSG winger Angel Di Maria and Gabriel Mercado.
Barcelona forward Lionel Messi returned to the international set-up having missed the opening four games of the qualification campaign with a knee injury. And apart from laying on the winner, it was a pretty uneventful night for the Argentinean legend overall.
A staggering fact emerged following the game after ESPN revealed that it was the first time Messi had failed to have a shot at goal in 117 matches.
