Zlatan Ibrahimovic claims Pep Guardiola once hid from him in the dressing room after a game.

The two never saw eye-to-eye during their single season together at Barcelona despite Ibrahimovic winning La Liga, the UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Club World Cup at Camp Nou.

There wasn't so much a huge fall-out between the pair, instead it was more a real lack of rapport that meant the pair would avoid each other - with Zlatan recalling one time where Guardiola waited for him to leave after a game.

"There was never any confrontation, he made sure of that," Ibrahimovic told Gazzetta dello Sport, via ESPN.

"When they played against my team, I went back to the dressing room after the game and he was in a room waiting for me to leave. At the door, one of his assistants told him: 'Ibra has gone, you can come out now.' I never understood why.

"On television he always plays the tough guy but when there's a real meeting face-to-face, he hides. As a coach he is a phenomenon, but as a man..."

Ibrahimovic's anecdote follows on from his attack in 2018 when he said similar about Pep, calling him the "the most immature" coach he worked under and accusing him of taking a dislike to him from the very first day he turned up in Catalonia.

The Swede's relationship with Jose Mourinho, who he worked with at both Inter Milan and Manchester United, is quite the opposite. Ibrahimovic spoke glowingly about him and hopes he will be back in management soon.

"We still stay in touch, he had an incredible impact on my career," Ibrahimovic added.

"He is still the Special One - a winner. I hope he returns to a bench soon and I am certain he will win straight away."
