Ian Holloway has called out Roy Keane for his punditry, believing the former Manchester United captain has a bias against Liverpool.

Keane is renowned for his no-nonsense approach when giving his opinions on games and he's provided plenty of box office entertainment on Sky Sports in recent times.

But Holloway, who managed in the Premier League with Blackpool and Crystal Palace, reckons the Irishman is incredibly quick to have a dig at Liverpool.

"I take my hat off to all of them because I understand the pressure of how you might feel because of the media," Holloway told Charlene Smith in association with Premier Footballers, via The Sun, when asked about managers working in unprecedented times.

"The media cause a lot of this. There's no fans but they're on at you all the time at that level.

"There's also a part of learning how to deal with them.

"I thought Jurgen Klopp last night [Sunday's 0-0 draw between Liverpool and United on 17 January] was magnificent in dealing with what happened and the game and how proud he was of his team.

"Because he's lost some major, major players. And Man United haven't really lost any of them yet.

"I found it interesting because Roy Keane annoyed me a bit yesterday.

"He's all 'we're doing well again' and he couldn't wait to get a dig in at Liverpool."

Keane annoyed Reds' boss Jurgen Klopp in September after he said there were some "sloppy" moments in their 3-1 win over Arsenal.

Coming in to do a live post-match interview with Sky, Klopp said: "Did Mr Keane say we had a sloppy performance tonight?

"Can you say that this was a sloppy performance tonight?. I'm not sure if I heard it right, but maybe he was speaking about another game as it can't be this game. Sorry, that's an incredible description of this game.

"This was absolutely exceptional. Nothing was sloppy, absolutely nothing. From the first second we were dominant against a team in form, 100 per cent in form, and you have to be careful for the counter-attacks.

"Alisson had to make one save, they had two balls in behind that we cannot avoid and you need a goalkeeper for that, but the football we played tonight was exceptional. For this game tonight, there's nothing bad to say."

Clarifying his comments, Keane weighed in: "I said there were sloppy moments, but I said your team were outstanding. I've been giving the club nothing but praise so I'm not sure you've heard me correctly there."

That prompted Klopp to reply, "I heard the word 'sloppy', that's all, so I imagined you must have watched the wrong game."
