Hatem Ben Arfa Left Embarrassed By Paris Saint-Germain

It's gone from bad to worse for him...

Hatem Ben Arfa hasn't exactly had a good time in football of late and things have got even worse for the Frenchman.

That's because as per French outlet L'Equipe the former Marseille winger has been made to train with the club's reserve squad after failing to secure a move away from the club on deadline day.

Ben Arfa, who has no future at the Parc Des Princes and was left out of the club's pre-season tour, was heavily linked with a move back to Nice, where he rekindled his career in 2015, but the talk was that the 30-year old wanted a pay-off from PSG and so nothing came to fruition.

But three years on from being cast aside from first-team proceedings at Newcastle United after a bust-up with Alan Pardew, he has now been demoted to the reserve set-up by PSG boss Unai Emery, who deems him surplus to requirements.

It's the lowest of lows from Ben Arfa, who has had his fair share.

A fan favourite at Newcastle United, his time there ultimately ended on a sour note when he was released in January 2015 after an underwhelming loan at Hull City.

He rebuilt his career back in France with Nice, netting 18 goals in a single season and getting a big money move to PSG in July 2016.

But despite a promising start, Ben Arfa never nailed down a starting spot under Unai Emery and his career has continued to embark on a downwards spiral.

Few can deny Ben Arfa's talents on the pitch. He has bags of quality, but aside from that fine season at Nice, he's struggled to produce the goods on a consistent basis and that is ultimately why he's not been able to completely fulfil his potential.

The curious case of Hatem Ben Arfa... Does he have enough time to rebuild his career once again or is he pretty much done and dusted at the top level?

Sound off the comments.
