Mauro Icardi has endured a difficult relationship with Internazionale fans during his time with the Nerazzurri, but last night he surely cemented himself as a legend with the blue half of Milan, after hitting a match winning hat-trick in the Milan derby.
The Argentinean striker has received his fair share of boos and insults from the San Siro faithful over the last couple of years, despite regularly being Inter's most influential and important player, scoring 87 goals in 154 appearances since arriving from Sampdoria, in 2013.
Last night, with the Milan derby level at 2-2, Inter were awarded a late penalty, which Icardi duly dispatched, sealing his hat-trick and all three points.
Following the goal, the Inter captain channeled his countryman, Lionel Messi, by celebrating in the same manner as Messi did when he won El Clasico for Barcelona against Real Madrid at the Bernabeu at the tail end of last season.
Mauro Icardi has been directly involved in 100 Serie A goals for Inter Milan.
