Former Liverpool and Aston Villa manager Gerard Houllier has sadly passed away, aged 73.
The Frenchman died overnight according to French outlet RMC Sport.
It comes after Houllier underwent aortic aneurysm surgery three weeks ago.

He was discharged from hospital and returned home yesterday, but tragically died overnight.
Houllier managed Paris Saint-Germain and the French national team before taking the Liverpool hot seat in 1998, where he helped the Reds win the FA Cup, two League Cups and the UEFA Cup, among other silverware.
After his stint at Anfield, he returned to France where he managed Lyon before returning to the Premier League to manage Villa.
