Hungary loses a legend.

Our favourite tracksuit-wearing keeper has called time on his international career.

After 18-years with Hungary amassing a record 107 caps the 40-year-old has retired from the national team.

The former Premier League star enjoyed spells at Palace, Villa and Fulham among others while donning his notorious gear.

He starred for Hungary advancing from the group making the Last 16 at Euro 2016, while making history becoming the oldest player overtaking Germany's Lothar Matthaus.

Kiraly now plies his trade with hometown team Szombathelyi Haladas, where he will continue playing though deemed the International arena too physically demanding. The legendary stopper released a statement via his website:

"I have 40 years and I can no longer perform at the level that the selection deserves, so I decided to stop. I'm a perfectionist and I always gave the maximum. I'm satisfied because I gave all my energy. I came to my limit. Bernd Storck gave me the right to decide the way forward after the European Championship. I decided there would not be a more dignified farewell than the European Championships, which triggered a real football fever, a lot of joy caused by the Hungarian people, and once again returned Hungarian football onto Europe's 'big stage'."

The famous 'trackies' will no longer appear at a major International stage. Sad day.
