Watch: Rio Ferdinand's Reaction To De Gea's Wonder Save Is Everything

It's so, so good.

Rio Ferdinand's reaction to David De Gea's stunning save to deny Luis Muriel last night is the best thing you will see today.

In 0-0 Champions League round of 16 first leg draw with Sevilla, the Spain No.1 produced a very good save from Steven Nzonzi's header off a corner moments before half-time.

But then went one better moments later by keeping out Luis Muriel, who had emerged free in the box to get on the end of a cross from Jesus Navas.

Colombian striker Muriel could not believe his header had been kept out and sunk into the post in frustration after seeing De Gea get a strong hand to palm his effort over the bar from point-blank range.

Ferdinand, De Gea's former United colleague, couldn't believe what he had conjured up - with BT Sport's cameras capturing the moment he, Paul Scholes and Frank Lampard witnessed the heroics in the studio.

The United legend, who won six Premier League titles at Old Trafford, went mental as De Gea did his best Spiderman impression - his voice changing pitch while Scholes and Lampard were in disbelief before clapping as though they were applauding the pilot for landing the plane.

Later on in BT Sport's coverage of the game, Ferdinand revealed that there were plenty of doubts from United's first-teamers when a rookie De Gea joined from Atletico.

"When he first came, even as players we were sitting there as players with doubts," he said on BT Sport.

"A young kid just come through the doors at United, we need to win every year, how are we going to do that with a young kid, inexperienced, who looks like he's lacking confidence.

"To be fair, Steeley [United's ex-goalkeeping coach Eric Steele] who brought him in, believed in him and the gaffer [Sir Alex Ferguson] followed that through, and look where he is today, that's a sign of someone who's worked hard to get where he needs to get."
