Former Manchester City midfielder Nigel de Jong has ended his brief spell in American soccer by leaving LA Galaxy for Galatasaray but he wasn't exactly give the greatest of send-offs from the MLS's official Twitter account.
In fact, it's probably fair to say the Dutchman was absolutely slaughtered by the league's social media staff.
Having played for City, Ajax and AC Milan throughout his career, de Jong opted to try his hand in the States back in January 2016, linking up with former Premier League rivals Steven Gerrard and Robbie Keane at the Galaxy.
But the 31-year-old's tough-tackling style of play hasn't gone down too well with American supporters it seems, after his move to Turkey was confirmed yesterday.

It's definitely fair to say that de Jong's abrasive nature on the pitch is something of an acquired taste and it seems unlikely that any other MLS club will be taking a chance on him any time soon.
