Luis Suarez has shared a story about his final visit to Old Trafford as a Liverpool player and how astounded he was by a dive of Daniel Sturridge's that won Liverpool one of their three penalties on that day in 2014.

The Reds' ran out 3-0 victors on the day, with three penalties being awarded to them. Steven Gerrard converted two but then missed the final one and his chance to secure a hat-trick. However, the awarding of the third spot kick was contentious to say the least, with United players left irate by what they felt was a clear dive by Daniel Sturridge.

In fact, the decision was that dubious, even Suarez couldn't believe the penalty had been given, as he explains in an updated version of his autobiography 'Crossing The Line':

"I must admit, I never thought I would see 3 penalties given against Manchester United at Old Trafford. I certainly didn't think we would get the one given to Sturridge. He threw himself down. But then it was such a good dive that even I thought it was a penalty. I saw it and thought penalty. But then I also saw how annoyed Vidic was, which made me think that perhaps it wasn't a foul.

"When I saw the replay, I realised that Daniel was about a metre away from Vidic. I said to Daniel later, 'Can you imagine what would have happened if that would have been me'. He said 'I felt him touching me' and started laughing."

Fair play, if you've already had the good fortune of receiving two penalties at Old Trafford, you may as well try for a third, it's not likely to happen again.
