Incredible.

A dedicated Football Manager fan accidentally woke his baby after celebrating a crucial last minute goal, but his wife had the last laugh with an incredible text message response.

Lewis Hathaway, a 28-year-old Twitch streamer with the username Doop, is currently in charge of French side Red Star FC.

In the space of six tough years, Lewis has dragged the Paris-based club from the third division of French football to Ligue 1 and, despite having a self-confessed "awful" start to life at the top, he has managed to turn things around at The Stade Bauer.

Red Star may have lost their first four games, including defeats to Paris Saint-Germain and Lyon but since, they haven't looked back. "Winning games and climbing the table. I could talk about my save all day long." he told SPORTbible.

On Monday night, Red Star were on the cusp of Ligue 1 safety when they came up against Toulouse.

To the dismay of many watching at home, however, his side conceded two sloppy goals. Despite that woeful start, the French minnows managed to claw those goals back, although they were staring at a 2-2 draw.

But with just seconds left on the clock, the ball was whipped in and a young Colombian newgen managed to get his head to it, securing all three points.

"Twitch has a great feature where you can use points you have accumulated over time of watching to predict the result of the game." Lewis tells us.

"The odds favoured us losing. The viewers were gutted that we went 2-0 down after 20 minutes. Some even called for an early pay-out due to us not losing this game."

But it was a last-second goal that guaranteed them safety and Lewis was understandably delighted with the finish. To celebrate a dramatic 3-2 win, he raised his voice but in the meantime, woke the baby - something his wife was far from pleased with.

She wrote in a text message: "Shhhh, you've woken Luca!" before Lewis replied with quite the response.

Lewis knew as soon as he celebrated that he was in trouble. "I could actually hear him starting to cry. I knew the text was coming." he says.

"With the adrenaline pumping, I felt that she would want to be involved in this very special moment for me. My wife is cool and very understanding."

Her response to his text was outstanding. In true FM fashion, she said his achievements will be judged at the end of the season and until then, he can "enjoy the sofa".

"As you can probably tell, she's used to it now." Lewis explains. "She knows that I love the game and that has rubbed off on her. I have a man cave dedicated to playing the game and creating content on it.

The question remains: did he actually sleep on the sofa? "No chance! I was tucked up in bed."

After he tweeted out the text message, the guys over at Football Manager even got involved in the action.

The 28-year-old isn't your average Football Manager player. He also talks about it weekly on a podcast called 5 Star Potential and take part in competitive competitions.

"This weekend I'm taking part in a competition called the Streamer Showdown which is sponsored by KFC and I'll be taking on eight other Football Manager content creators." he says.

If you want to watch Lewis play live on Twitch, you can at http://twitch.tv/Doop live at 7pm weekdays and 9am on weekends.
