Arsenal Appear To Troll Olivier Giroud After Disastrous Performance

Gunners fans are not happy

While Olivier Giroud was hailed by French fans for opening the scoring in 'Les Bleus' opening game against Romania, the Arsenal striker didn't enjoy the same adulation against Albania, last night. And even Arsenal's Twitter account couldn't find anything positive to say about the Frenchman's performance.

Giroud was hauled off after 77 disappointing minutes, with the match heading for a stalemate. Fortunately for Didier Deschamps, Antoine Griezmann and Dimitri Payet struck in injury time to hand the host nation a 2-0 victory over the resolute Albanians.

The former Montpellier striker couldn't even find a reprieve from his nightmare in the safety of Arsenal Twitter, either, with the club posting about their player's exploits at the tournament, that day. Granit Xhaka was hailed for his Man Of The Match display for Switzerland, against Romania and Laurent Koscielny received plaudits for keeping a clean sheet. Giroud? They merely mentioned that he happened to make an appearance.

The response from Gunners fans was, unsurprisingly, rather volatile:

Maybe just a simple 'well done' will do, next time?
