Frenkie de Jong has only been with Barcelona for a few months now but the Dutch midfielder has already made an instant impact.
The former Ajax man has settled in well in the middle of the Blaugrana midfield despite a fairly disappointing start to the campaign and he leads the way in a number of departments in Barca training.
As per AS, De Jong covers more ground than anyone else, wins the most balls, is the quickest at recovering, possesses the most aerobic capacity and also has the most diverse heart maps.
Barcelona coaches have apparently been stunned by the condition De Jong is in, with a section in the Spanish newspaper reading: "He has the characteristics of a total athlete, with a privileged physique, he could participate in the Olympic Games in medium and long-distance races. He doesn't look like it, but he is a physical powerhouse, a beast".

As we know, De Jong's abilities with the ball at his feet are also second to none and his stats back up just how much of a pass master he is.
So far, in eight La Liga games, he's completed 434 of an attempted 467 passes to give him a pass accuracy of 92.9% - with only Real Madrid playmaker Toni Kroos (93.1%) boasting better numbers.
His two Champions League appearances have seen him record a pass success of 91.4% - the fourth best in the competition thus far.
