Fabinho is yet to make his debut for Liverpool, and many are understandably confused why the big money signing is yet to play a competitive game for the Reds.

The midfielder made the move from Ligue 1 to the Premier League for a fee of £43 million, but manager Jurgen Klopp has so far opted against playing the defensive midfielder.

This has led to concern from supporters.

The former Monaco player has explained the reason why he believes he's been left out for so long.

I'm aware it's a different playing style than Monaco," he said. "There were two in midfield there whereas here at Liverpool there's usually three.

"My midfield partners have provided me with guidance and assistance. So have the defence.

"I knew it would change and I feel I've adapted well. You seek guidance from the other players around you and that's worked really well and I feel my performances in pre-season were good.

"Monaco had a transition similar to Liverpool's. I think the two teams can be compared in this way; both them have very fast transition, with every fast players up front.

"I hope to be as important here as I was at Monaco."

Liverpool have won three out of three so far this season, while their biggest rivals for the league title, Manchester City, tripped up against newly-promoted Wolverhampton Wanderers, drawing 1-1 away to the Midlands side.

The Reds finished fourth in the league last season, but the additions they made over of the summer - such as Fabinho - has many tipping them for a shot at the title this time around.
