Paul Merson might live to regret his comments about Arsenal after the major backlash he has received from Gunners fans.
Yes, that's right.
The 50-year-old pundit questioned how far Unai Emery's side would progress in the rest of the Premier League campaign, despite the fact that the London club are on an impressive winning run (11 matches) at the moment.
Oh, and that's not the half of it.
The former Arsenal star said on Sky Sports (via GiveMeSport that Liverpool could be one of the clubs that could expose Emery's team.
"If they don't lose by more than three goals next Saturday, I'll be shocked," he said. "Leicester [City] are average at best and that should have been out of sight after 30 minutes.
"They aren't in the same class as this Liverpool team. If Liverpool turn up and they fancy it -- and I have to say fancy it -- they will rip Arsenal to absolute...
"And they'll get found out. They're just waiting to get found out.
"They're like a boxer who has got a dodgy chin that hasn't been hit yet and as soon as he gets hit he's going to get absolutely sparked.
"No way are they winning the league."
As expected, Arsenal fans flocked to Twitter to deliver blow after blow to Merson.
Paul Merson actually thinks he can get away rustling the Arsenal fan base uno.. Its okay to say we might lose to Liverpool, but to suggest this 11 win streak is a fluke is absolute stupidity. One more reason for Arsenal to step up. Win against Liverpool and he's dun out ereee

Paul Merson criticizing Arsenal for winning 11 games in a row because "they haven't beaten anybody" still surely better than if we hadn't won all those games no??

It's sad to see Paul Merson in the state he is in. Love to know why he has become so bitter towards The Arsenal

2 against Crystal Palace
1 against Brighton
2 against Leicester
1 against Chelsea
0 against Napoli
0 against Man City
1 against Huddersfield...
but Paul Merson, an ex Arsenal player and paid @SkySports pundit expects them to beat Arsenal by 3 clear goals

Paul Merson is becoming a pathetic joke. He knows that his only chance to have job as a pundit is to talk shit about Arsenal to create some controversy.
