FIFA 22 will feature a new commentary pairing of Derek Rae and former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson, in addition to Alex Scott making history in becoming the first female voice in the game.

Scottish commentator Rae has been heard in the FIFA series for a number of years now, making his first appearance in FIFA 19 on Champions League and Europa League games.

Lee Dixon was Rae's co-commentator and the two continued to call the action together, with the pair promoted to the first-choice duo and featuring in all matches instead of Martin Tyler and Alan Smith on FIFA 21.

In FIFA 22, Rae will describe the virtual games alongside another former Gunner in Robson, who has been a regular voice on BT Sport - particularly on Italian football.

Scott's involvement had been rumoured for a while but it had not been reported as to what capacity the former England star would feature.

The 36-year-old is effectively replacing Alan McNally and serving as the pitchside reporter on Career Mode.

Already a trailblazer after being announced as the first permanent female host of Football Focus on BBC, Scott will give you all the live updates on matches in one of the game's most popular modes.

EA Sports provided all the key information on gameplay in a huge reveal on Tuesday and fans are loving the new pre-match intros that they will view when the game is released worldwide.

Other pre-match sequences include shots of sprinklers, ground staff, player warm ups, dressing rooms and mascots - as well as dynamic crowd behaviours that see your team's fans leave early if the players aren't playing well.

Players also wear "anthem jackets" for big games to add to the immersive matchday experience.

FIFA 22, with Kylian Mbappe the cover star once again, will be launched on October 1.
