Saido Berahino Has Gone A Whole TWO Years Without Scoring A Goal

An utterly ridiculous statistic.

Stoke City striker Saido Berahino has gone a whole TWO years without finding the net.

The Burundi-born forward needed to get on the scoresheet in today's lunchtime trip to Leicester City in order to break the duck.

However, he's not been included in the Potters squad and now boasts one of the most embarrassing statistics in all of football.

Berahino's last competitive goal came for West Brom against Crystal Palace on February 27, 2016 and broke a barren spell where he had been without a goal since October.

In 2014/15, Berahino bagged 20 goals in all competitions for the Baggies and was well way on his way to progressing from the England Under 21's to the full Three Lions squad.

He was also subject to strong interest from Tottenham, who made a total of four bids, the highest of which was a reported £23 million, to try and take him to North London.

West Brom resisted those advances and he remained at the Hawthorns until January 2017 when he moved to Stoke in a £12 million deal.

But over a year on, the 24-year old is still searching for his first goal in Stoke colours, memorably having a penalty saved by Fraser Forster in September when had the perfect opportunity to end his wretched run from the spot.

Tipped as England's future, Berahino's career really hasn't gone to plan since his prolific campaign for WBA and he's had a remarkable fall from grace.

Is there a way back for Berahino?

Sound off in the comments.
