Never forget.

Liverpool narrowly missed out on their first Premier League title in years back in 2014, and a day that will never be forgotten will be 'that' game against Crystal Palace in early May.

Brendan Rodgers' side went 3-0 up after 55 minutes thanks to Luis Suarez's 31st goal of the season, while first half goals from Joe Allen and an unfortunate Damien Delaney put them comfortably ahead.

In the final 11 minutes though, Liverpool crumbled and squandered that three-goal lead after Delaney made up for his error.

Dwight Gayle then broke the hearts of millions when his late brace dented their title chances massively. Crystanbul was born.

The now famous images of Luis Suarez sobbing on the Selhurst Park pitch are a bitter memory for Liverpool fans as captain Steven Gerrard consoled arguably the best player in the league at the time.

Rodgers' side had gone one point clear of Manchester City, but their rivals had one crucial game in hand. The fact that it could have easily gone three points clear will haunt many for years to come.

Manchester City eventually went on to win the league on the final day of the season, recording a 2-0 victory against West Ham at the Etihad.

The likes of Gerrard, Suarez and Sakho did manage to pick up three points against Newcastle on the same day, but the loss at Selhurst Park was the nail in the coffin.
