Facebook To Live Stream Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus Debut

Good news for U.K folks who want to watch Cristiano Ronaldo's Juventus debut.

Ronaldo's eagerly anticipated Juventus debut will be available for U.K football fans on Eleven Sports' Facebook page

The defending league champions travel to Chievo on August 18th in the opening weekend of the Italian top flight.

Eleven Sports acquired Serie A & La Liga broadcasting rights ahead of the new season, and the channel have now struck a deal with the social media giants to stream one game per week for free.

Beginning with Ronaldo's Juventus debut.

The La Liga campaign begins a day earlier on Friday 17th with Facebook streaming Girona vs. Real Valladolid.

Eleven Sports' Group Managing Director Danny Menken issued the following statement: "By making Facebook our free-to-air partner, we are giving our leading content centre stage projection, opening it up to new and diverse audiences, and confirming again our innovative leadership in the global sports media industry.

"In all our global markets we want to be where the fans are.

"We aim to serve fan communities and develop interaction and engagement around our content, while ensuring we are always accessible and easy to reach

"Our unique free-to-air partnership with Facebook helps us to do this as part of our fresh and contemporary approach to distribution."

Rhys Beer, who runs Facebook's live sports programming, said: "We're excited to build on our strong relationship with Eleven Sports by becoming the free-to-air home in the UK and Ireland for a selection of its live broadcasts this season."
