Cristiano Ronaldo is said to have been close to signing for Paris-Saint Germain prior to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Despite firing Juventus to another Scudetto in his second season in Turin, France Football say the five-time Ballon d'Or winner was "unhappy" and "had a dream" of lining up alongside Neymar and Kylian Mbappe in a stunning strikeforce.

According to the French outlet, Ronaldo became particularly frustrated in October when he failed to score or assist in a 2-1 win over Lokomotiv Moscow - missing a tap-in and not really celebrating the winning goal with Paulo Dybala.

The report states the Portuguese superstar was "ready to picture himself" in destination and was keen on a move to Paris, where he won Euro 2016 with Portugal.

His representatives believed it was "very probable" that the former Manchester United and Real Madrid would be leaving.

Ronaldo, Neymar and Mbappe in the same side would be almost unfair for opposition defenders in Ligue One, but the emergence of coronavirus means the likelihood of a potential big-money transfer happening is now pretty slim.

The 35-year old, who has 63 goals in 88 appearances for Juventus, celebrated the club's latest triumph by purchasing a rare £8.5 million Bugatti Centodieci and a £5.5 million luxury yacht that he and his family have been spending time on.
