Cristiano Ronaldo Describes Ole Gunnar Solskjaer As An "Outstanding Human Being" In Farewell Post

Cristiano Ronaldo has sent Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a departing message on social media after the Norwegian was fired by Manchester United on Sunday morning.

The Portuguese superstar wished his former boss and teammate the very best in a farewell message, one that goes some way towards dispelling any notion of a falling out between the pair.

While Ronaldo has helped drag the manager, and the club as a whole, out of some dire situations this season, he could ultimately do very little at the weekend to prevent United from falling to another dismal defeat.

The Red Devils were on the end of a 4-1 battering away at newly-promoted Watford, a result that rendered Solskjaer's position as manager of the club completely untenable.

However, in spite of the side's horrendous recent form, Ronaldo was still very complimentary towards the 48-year-old, who did previously help United reach the 2021 Europa League final.

"But most of all, Ole is an outstanding human being. I wish him the best in whatever his life has reserved for him.

The message received a healthy amount of support from fans online, who pointed to the 36-year-old's continued effort and willingness to try and help United, even when the writing was on the wall for Solskjaer.

Other replies, meanwhile, weren't quite as kind to the former Juventus man...

The search for Ole's successor is now underway, with Mauricio Pochettino currently looking like the early frontrunner to land the coveted job.
