Manchester United losing two-nil at home to Cardiff City sums up their 2018/19 Premier League season.

United's league form has slumped again since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's permanent appointment.

He enjoyed a blistering spell as caretaker boss, but his fortunes have dramatically changed after becoming the United manager on a full-time basis.

Solskjaer's won just three league games since March and his side suffered their 10th league defeat of the term at home to relegated Cardiff on the final day of the season.

Neil Warnock's team beat United 2-0 to cap off a miserable league campaign for the Reds.

Nathaniel Mendez-Laing scored twice, either side of the break. He now has scored more goals than Alexis Sanchez at Old Trafford.

What's more, United end the season 32 points behind the champions, the furthest they have been off the top since they were promoted back to the top flight back in 1975.

Solskjaer is planning a major squad overhaul in the summer with a host of players being linked with a move to the club. There will also be a mass exodus with the Norwegian gaffer set to trim his squad ahead of the new season.

A huge summer waits for Solskjaer's United.
