Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis says the process of replacing Arsene Wenger has started today - and Arsenal fans won't be best-pleased with who the favourite is.

As per Oddschecker, Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers is currently leading the pack, ahead of Thomas Tuchel, Joachim Low, Patrick Vieira, Carlo Ancelotti and Luis Enrique among others.

Former Liverpool manager Rodgers is line to win a second consecutive domestic treble in Scotland and has been tipped to return to the Premier League for a third managerial run.

Celtic majority shareholder Dermot Desmond wants him to remain in Glasgow but says the club would not stand in his way if Arsenal approached him.

"I'm glad he's the favourite," Desmond said on Sky Sports earlier today.

"He's an outstanding person. We wouldn't want him to leave but we won't force him to stay.

"Hopefully his love for the club and the set-up here will induce him to stay.

"I don't think you can put handcuffs on anybody if they want to go to a club as good as Arsenal. It will be Brendan's decision and his decision only."

Just imagine the scenes if Arsenal felt Rodgers was the "character" to take the Emirates club forward?! Social media has already been producing plenty of goodness:

Wenger announced he will step down as manager at the end of the season after 22-years of service, three Premier League titles and seven FA Cups.
