Sam Allardyce has offered to resign from his job as England manager after the former West Ham boss was caught on camera in a newspaper sting giving advice on how someone might get around the FA's rules on third party ownership.
Allardyce was offered ยฃ400k by men he believed to be businessmen, but who were actually undercover reporters for The Telegraph, to help them broker third party deals. Allardyce also made controversial comments about Roy Hodgson and the cost of Wembley.

The 61 year old was called to Wembley to explain his actions to FA chairman Greg Clarke and chief executive Martin Glenn, who held an emergency meeting this morning, and now Allardyce has offered to leave the position he has only held since August.
It was a dream of Allardyce's to get the England job and he was overlooked for the position after Sven Goran Eriksson left the job in 2006 in favour of Steve McLaren.
Where the FA goes next is anyone's guess.
