Barcelona Set To Offload 14 Players In Mass Summer Clear-Out

Barcelona are willing to part ways with as many as 14 players in a huge summer clear-out.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the Blaugrana are preparing to initiate a "remodelling" of their squad going into next season.

At present, Ronald Koeman's future at the club has not yet been resolved and Barca chiefs are still trying to get captain and talisman Lionel Messi to extend his contract for another two seasons before it expires.

But given their poor financial situation, Barca are set to part company with a whole host of first-teamers - whether that means through sales, loans or releases.

Neto, Samuel Umtiti, Junior Firpo, Matheus Fernandes, Martin Braithwaite, Philippe Coutinho and Miralem Pjanic are just some of the high-profile players who president Joan Laporta and Barcelona are looking to offload in what Mundo are calling "a revolution" at the Nou Camp.

The trio of Coutinho, Pjanic and Umtiti may be the hardest to shift due to their high wages.

The Catalan side hope that by getting a number of stars off the books, they will have funds available to invest in new signings in the summer.

Eric Garcia's return to his boyhood club looks to be as good as done, with other top targets including Sergio Aguero, Gini Wijnaldum and Memphis Depay.

With two games remaining in La Liga, Barca are in third position on 76 points.

After two consecutive draws dented their title challenge, the Copa Del Rey winners are relying on a late collapse from leaders Atletico Madrid, who are two points clear of rivals Real following the 2-1 win over Real Sociedad.
