It was a strange game at the Emirates. Not only were there 10,000 empty seats for the lunch-time Premier League encounter with Hull City, but Arsenal legend Alan Smith also called-out Theo Walcott for a bizarre reason.

Walcott ultimately endured a frustrating afternoon as he went head-to-head with Harry Maguire before being hauled off in the 70th minute.

Though he made a lasting impression on Sky commentator Smith who wasn't pleased with the English frontman for sporting a short-sleeve shirt.

"Interesting that Theo Walcott's got short sleeves on." Smith picked up on while commentating the game.

Continuing by claiming Walcott was breaking a club tradition; "History tells us that everybody wears the same whether it's short or long but Theo's gone his own way."

"It's a long and well-respected rule in the football club. When the kitman says it's time for long, everybody wears long."

Smith's comments was subject to contrasting opinions on Twitter with some siding by him while others disagreed with his stance. Here are some of the best reactions:
