Alexis Sanchez may have only officially been a Manchester United player for one day but the Chilean has already been singling out one of his new teammates for special praise.

The 29-year-old put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half year deal at Old Trafford yesterday after trading places with Armenian playmaker Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

And now the former Arsenal and Barcelona man is quickly assimilating himself with his new teammates and has had positive things to say about all of them, with one in particular impressing Sanchez, not just in training, but whenever they have opposed each other in Premier League clashes between Arsenal and United.

The player in question is United number one David De Gea, who famously thwarted Sanchez and the rest of the Arsenal team on 14 occasions during United's recent 3-1 victory over the Gunners at the Emirates stadium.

Sanchez said, via Metro, "I've not had the chance to get to know them personally or spend time with any of my teammates up to now, but of course I know them from having played against them in the past.

"I believe that David De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers in the world right now.

"He's a player who I've always found it hard to score past, and so for me he is right up there with the best keepers in the world."

Sanchez looks set to make his bow in a United shirt this Friday night, when the Red Devils come up against Yeovil in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The Chilean's first Premier League game for his new club will likely be a not so warmly received appearance at Wembley, next Wednesday, when United take on Sanchez's former North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.

What do you make of United's capture of Sanchez? An inspired piece of business or will the Chilean flop at Old Trafford?
