Laura Woods perfectly claps back at Chelsea fan who tried to mock her over Mykhaylo Mudryk

Mudryk looked certain to sign for Arsenal before Chelsea's later intervention, and the Gunners' fan summed the situation up perfectly.

Chelsea fans will be feeling very good about themselves over their club's signing of Mykhaylo Mudryk but Arsenal fan Laura Woods brought one down a peg or two.

It has looked for months that the Gunners would be adding highly rated young forward Mudryk to their ranks, with rumours going on since the summer.

Fans would have been hopeful of signing the 22-year-old from Shakhtar Donetsk to help replace the injured Gabriel Jesus and continue their push for a first Premier League title since 2004.

Mudryk made it pretty clear that he wanted to move to north London, with plenty of hints in his social media activity in recent weeks.

The one problem for Mikel Arteta's side has been the inability to agree to the terms laid out by Shakhtar to reach the fee they want for their forward.

And that's where Chelsea came in to offer the Ukrainians what they wanted in order to sign the forward, with him travelling to west London on Saturday night.

That will certainly be a blow below the belt for Arsenal fans, who were getting very excited about their latest signing, including broadcaster Woods.

The ITV Football presenter posted a gif showing her disappointment and a Chelsea fan responded "The fact that we're 11th and have more pull than first place Arsenal shows the level our clubs rated at."

Without missing a beat she savagely replied, "No that’s called cash. But bless you."

The Blues signing of Mudryk will take their transfer spending just for this season over £400 million, after Todd Boehly bought the club last summer.

However it hasn't helped them all that much and their most recent signing, before Mudryk, was Joao Felix and the forward got sent off in his debut against Fulham.

Graham Potter's side went on to lose that game, after being taken down to 10 men, and that result, coupled with Southampton's win over Everton on Saturday, means they're as close to bottom as they are the top four.

The Chelsea fan continued trying to troll Woods, adding, "I know that, but we just hijacked a deal all Arsenal fans thought was complete so of course we have to add extra banter to the situation."

And she once again had the better of him, replying, "Ohh, well that’s cute. I’ve got some too, you’re still 11th x"

Woods did note after that the Stamford Bridge club are indeed 10th and not 11th, although it was the fan who made the error first.

Of course, that slight incorrect piece of information is not exactly enough to make fans of the club any happier about the situation they find themselves in.

After facing Crystal Palace, they'll next face Liverpool in the Premier League, and incredibly that match is currently due to be ninth against 10th.

Woods only needs to look at the league table to know she won the argument this time, Mudryk or no Mudryk.
