Mohamed Salah showed off his unbelievable speed and determination to go from attack to defence and back again, as Liverpool beat Ajax in the Champions League.

It's been a tough start to the season for Liverpool, who have dropped points in four of their opening six Premier League games and also lost their Champions League matchday one game.

There has been criticism of most of Jurgen Klopp's most important players, whether it's been Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Jordan Henderson or even Salah.

The forward was recently accused of playing like Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the then Arsenal forward signed his huge contract with the Gunners, a comparison with Mesut Ozil would also have worked.

However, on Tuesday night he was back in form as he scored the goal to put his side ahead against Ajax, in a game they won 2-1, thanks to a late winner.

As well as his goal, a particular highlight was Salah covering the length of the pitch in about 10 seconds to go from attack to defence, making an important challenge in the box to end an Ajax counter attack.

"And people say he doesn’t play for the badge just got the contract and doesn’t care at all," one fan said, bringing up the Aubameyang comparison.

A second fan, gave a similar response, adding, "Exactly, people need to stop this “signed a big contract so doesn’t care” nonsense, if he’s not scoring goals, it’s nothing to do with want or desire. Work rate unmatched."

"Mo Salah is worth every penny. He does not act like a prima donna and covers both ends of the pitch," a third fan opined.

"And this is not the only time he did that in the game. This man is relentless," another added.

And one other fan summed up why fans love the former Roma forward, "Mo Salah is worth every penny. He does not act like a prima donna and covers both ends of the pitch."

What made it all the more impressive was the image, taken just 15 seconds later, of the 30-year-old down the other end as part of another Liverpool attack.

As far as the criticism is concerned, Van Dijk hit back at critics, claiming they were piling in on him, and his teammates, just to knock morale inside Anfield.

Rio Ferdinand hit back saying that it was all valid criticism, especially what was said following last week's loss to Napoli in the Champions League.
