Fan footage shows new angle of Mohamed Salah's touch before goal vs Manchester City, it's utter filth

The Egyptian forward gave Liverpool a vital win at Anfield on Sunday night.

Fan footage of Mohamed Salah's goal against Manchester City will give you a newfound appreciation of his wonderful touch and finish against the reigning Premier League champions.

In the build-up to Sunday's highly-anticipated clash at Anfield, the main talking point amongst fans and pundits was the new man on the block; Erling Haaland.

The Norwegian forward netted 15 goals in 9 games ahead of the Liverpool game and naturally, expectations were high after an untouchable start to life in England's top flight.

But it was last season's joint-top scorer that reminded us that he is still one of the world's best.

Despite a relatively slow start to the 2022/23 campaign, Salah produced a man-of-the-match performance against Pep Guardiola's side, with his 76th-minute goal sealing an important win for the Reds.

Salah produced a breathtaking touch to spin away from Joao Cancelo and, after latching onto Alisson's pass, he dispatched past the onrushing Ederson with a cool finish.

After stretching City's defence for large periods on Sunday, it was the least Salah deserved.

And in the aftermath of Liverpool's win, a new angle of his touch emerged when a fan posted footage of that wonderful sequence of play on Twitter. You can see that clip below.

Social media couldn't get enough of the footage. One fan said: "That touch from Salah is verging on explicit," while another commented: "Very few players will have this composure in such big game."

A third wrote: "Yoo that control from Salah is the best touch I've seen in ages."

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was also in awe of the goal. After the full-time whistle, he praised both Alisson and Salah for their efforts.

"The situation around the goal is just sensational awareness from Alisson and outstanding from Mo," the German said. "He might miss one but he will not miss two in a similar situation.

“Goals decide the game but there were so many good football moments against what I would say is the best football team in the world.”

Klopp went on to describe Salah's performance as "outstanding" before praising his constant threat in behind.

"The goal was world-class," he told Liverpool's official website. "Again, a colleague of yours asked me if I think we were a bit lucky in that moment because [Joao] Cancelo missed the ball. I didn’t see a player missing the ball, I saw a player using his body extremely well and being there in the one-on-one situation with the goalie.

"So, a top-class goal. The situation immediately before was really unlucky that he didn’t score there already. Apart from that, good on the ball, a constant threat in behind, working extremely hard, an outstanding performance, honestly. It was really good.”
