Michael Owen Reacts To Daughter Gemma Performing 'Striptease' In Love Island Challenge

Michael Owen produced a priceless post after watching a segment involving his daughter on Love Island.

Michael Owen immediately took to Twitter after watching his daughter Gemma perform a "striptease" on Love Island.

The former Liverpool, Real Madrid and England striker's eldest child is a contestant in the polarising ITV2 reality show and her appearance has certainly piqued the interest of football fans along with the usual Love Island audience.

Straight from the off fans fans were in disbelief over how much Gemma sounds like her Ballon d'Or-winning father - and the fact that nobody appears to have clocked on yet.

On Tuesday night's episode, the contestants took part in the annual heart-rate challenge - where essentially the aim of the game was to seduce the other sex.

Props and costumes were used and heart-rates were measured to see whose pulses really got racing.

The girls went first in the risque segment and Gemma, 19, wearing fishnet tights, a black thong, a crop top and red high heels, performed a lap dance on each of the boys.

The section wasn't quite suitable for under 18's and Owen couldn't watch. On Twitter, he posted just a single emoji - hands over the eyes - to sum up where his mind was at.

Gemma fared very well in the challenge, however, raising the heart-rate of her partner Luca Bish, Jay Younger and ex boyfriend outside the villa - Jacques O'Neill.

Rugby player O'Neill, 23, ripped up his contract with Super League side Castleford Tigers to come on the show.

Owen, who scored 40 goals in 89 games for England, said his little girl going on Love Island is "probably a father's worst nightmare" but offered his support and hit back at those who say she is too young to appear on the show.

But in a separate interview, he did also claim he would "be throwing something at the screen" if he saw physical contact involving Gemma.

Owen also called out a youth football coach for a crude tweet sent out about his daughter.

"Can't wait to see her getting smashed," was the post, accompanied by a series of laughing emojis.

In response, Owen wrote, "What a fine example to set from a man in your responsible position."

An international dressage champion, Gemma represented team GB at the European Championships in 2021 and has accrued 555,000 followers on Instagram.
