Old video of Mason Mount taking inspiration from Cristiano Ronaldo resurfaces amid Man United transfer

Manchester United fans want the clip as part of the announcement.

An old video of Mason Mount referencing Cristiano Ronaldo has surfaced online amid Manchester United agreeing a deal with Chelsea.

Mount has been strongly linked with a summer move to Old Trafford as Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his team ahead of the new season.

And it appears the Red Devils are set to get their man after the club agreed a deal to sign the 24-year-old from Chelsea.

He's set to join Man United in a transfer worth up to £60 million, which includes £5 million in add-ons, which would be dependent on appearances and success.

Ahead of him officially moving to the red side of Manchester, a clip of a young Mount taking inspiration from the five-time Ballon d'Or winner has emerged online.

The footage shows Mount revealing that he bases his free-kick technique on the former Man United superstar.

"I try to base my free-kick on Ronaldo. Hit the ball by the valve and it moves. Top bins," he said, before hitting a sweet free-kick into the back of the net.

Needless to say, Man United fans online loved the video of Mount emulating Ronaldo's free-kick technique.

One Twitter user wrote: "Mason Mount was also a Ronaldo fanboy when he was in Man United. That makes him a United supporter."

A second tweeted: "This has to be part of the announcement."

A third added: "I need United to use this in the announcement video."

A fourth said: "CR7 his idol, aight come home money Mase."

Another commented: "Mason Mount always been a Man United fan. He even based his freekicks on Cristiano Ronaldo."

Unfortunately for Mount, he won't be able to play alongside Ronaldo, who left the club last season to join Al Nassr.
