England stars Mary Earps and Katie Zelem won the Pointless jackpot after nailing a capital city question on the BBC programme.

Matt Evers, Patsy Palmer, Marky Luther, Meesh Ven, Naomi Wilkinson and Steve Backshall were among the celebrities aiming to lift the Pointless trophy on episode 10 of series 17.

Not to mention Lionesses duo Earps and Zelem, who were both playing for the same charity.

And they took home the Pointless jackpot after smashing a capital city question.

For the jackpot, Earps and Zelem had a selection of rounds including 'Bands from Athens, Georgia' and 'Recent children's film sequels'.

But, having spoken about it just moments before, they opted for 'Capital cities ahead or behind London'.

The Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper and the Angel City midfielder had 60 seconds to think about their answers before informing host Alexander Armstrong of their picks.

Earps and Zelem eventually came up with Phuket, Santiago and Lima.

Their first answer Phuket went to the board as a capital city ahead of London.

But Phuket didn't register a score as it's not Thailand's capital city.

Their next answer Santiago, the capital of Chile, came agonisingly close to being a Pointless answer, ending up on 1.

Lima, the capital of Peru, was their third and final answer, which happened to be a Pointless answer, prompting jubilant scenes.

Naturally, Earps and Zelem couldn't contain their excitement as they celebrated their Pointless jackpot triumph, worth a cool £3,000.

And it goes to a great cause, with both footballers picking the Selina House Dementia Specialist charity, with Zelem's grandmother in the day care centre.

The England pair were on the books at Manchester United before their respective moves away from the club.

Earps signed for PSG on a free transfer last summer, while Zelem joined American side Angel City, who are based in Los Angeles, California.
