Marcus Rashford Posts Emotional Message To Manchester United Fans Following Criticism Of His Performances

Marcus Rashford insists he has “endless respect” for Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick following reports of dressing room discontent at Old Trafford - and has vowed to improve his own performances this season.

Rangnick replaced former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in November but has failed to improve results at the club, with United now seventh in the Premier League after Monday’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves.

Rumours of a potential summer exodus from Old Trafford continue to circulate, with as many as 17 players currently unhappy at the club, according to The Daily Mail.

Rashford, however, insists he is fully committed to United and is determined to prove his worth after managing just three goals in all competitions so far this season.

In an emotional message posted on his Twitter account, Rashford wrote: "I read something earlier that said I'd been quiet on here but what can I say that will make this better other than showing you on the pitch?

"We've all been disappointed with recent performances and we've been as disappointed with the news coverage questioning our commitment to not only the manager and the coaching staff, but to the club.

"I have endless respect for both and I'm looking forward to bettering my game under the staff at Manchester United.

"I'm not sulking, I'm not unhappy, am I disappointed in some of my performances? Of course I am.

"I'm my own biggest critic. It's been a tough start but I'm determined to prove my worth.

"My dedication and my desire to be here should never be in question. I love this club."

According to The Daily Mirror, cliques have emerged in the United squad and Rangnick now faces ‘many of the same problems’ that Solskjaer experienced.

It is claimed that many of the United players have been left underwhelmed by the German’s coaching and are ‘not impressed’ by his tactics.

However, Rangnick insists his players are trying to take his coaching on board.

“They are at least trying, I am sure that they are listening,” he said.

Responding to reports that he has unhappy players in his dressing room, Rangnick added: "Well, I mean this is not only an issue with a club like Manchester United.

"If you have that many players and 10 outfield players can play and three being substituted, then of course you have quite a number of players - in our case 12, 13, 14 players who don't even play, or not even being in the squad.

"Then those players are not happy about that situation. It's obvious, it's clear.

"I tend to explain to players every two or three weeks why they are not playing but obviously I cannot do that every game and that is an issue in our team as well as in other clubs."

United next face Aston Villa in the third round of the FA Cup on Monday.
