Man Utd handed huge Marcus Rashford injury boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

Man Utd handed huge Marcus Rashford injury boost ahead of Bournemouth clash

This is a major boost for Erik ten Hag.

Marcus Rashford has been spotted back in Manchester United training in a major boost to their Champions League hopes.

Rashford suffered a leg injury which saw him miss out on the Red Devils' 2-0 win over Wolves.

But the 25-year-old has since been filmed with a beaming smile on his face at Carrington training centre, playing a light hearted game of foot-tennis with his teammates.

The news will come as a significant boost to supporters, who have relied heavily on the England international for goals this season.

Indeed, Rashford has enjoyed his best ever scoring season with the club, helping himself to 29 goals in all competitions.

What has Erik Ten Hag said?

Erik ten Hag kept his cards close to his chest when discussing the issue.

“I can't tell in this moment,” he told BBC Sport when asked to give a timeframe on the striker's return.

“I hope [he will be back soon]. Of course. And he will do everything that can be done. The medical staff is working hard on it, but I am focused, and my team are focusing, on this game.”

Scott McTominay was also pictured during the session, having missed United's last nine matches.

While Raphael Varane, who was replaced by Harry Maguire as a precaution late in the day against Wolves, was also part of the training group.

The Red Devils are level on points with third-place Newcastle United, but are one place behind Eddie Howe's men on goal difference.

With just three games to go, Ten Hag is in a great position to qualify for the Champions League, but any slip-up could prove costly with Liverpool breathing down their necks in fifth.

United face Bournemouth on Saturday as they seek to replicate their comprehensive 3-0 victory over the Cherries at Old Trafford in January.
