Sadio Mane reportedly struck Leroy Sane in the face as the pair had a furious 'bust-up' following Bayern Munich's crushing defeat to Manchester City.

The Bundesliga giants suffered a bruising 3-0 defeat at the Etihad in their quarter-final first-leg tie on Tuesday.

Goals from Rodri, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland ensured the Blues have a big advantage ahead of next week's second-leg.

Sensational reports have now emerged claiming Mane and Sane were involved in a heated exchange on the pitch, then after the final whistle.

According to German outlet BILD, Mane and Sane had an argument on the pitch after the former Liverpool star entered the fray.

After the result, the Senegalese forward complained about how the German winger spoke to him on the pitch.

Mane subsequently attacked Sane and hit him in the face, according to the report. They had to be separated by their teammates as they tried to calm things down.

Sane was then told to leave the dressing room, with eyewitnesses saying Mane's blow on his club colleague left a mark on his face.

It's suggested a moment in the 83rd minute triggered the altercation. Mane ran into space for a through ball instead of coming short to receive the ball.

Sane, who wanted to impress against his old team, didn't appreciate Mane's move and started an on-field argument.

Per the report, Bayern did not want to comment on the reported incident between Mane and Sane.

Speaking after the defeat, Thomas Tuchel said he was 'very proud' of how his team played and hasn't ruled out a comeback when the two sides meet against at the Allianz Arena next Wednesday.

"Everyone saw we were trying to pull the game to our side. I saw so many good things that I refuse to put the result in focus today," he said.

"I was very proud of how we played. We were courageous. I kind of have a crush on this team.

"It is going to be a big task to turn this tie around but we are not giving up. Obviously everyone is disappointed because it did not feel like a 3-0.

"But a home game in Germany is a home game in Germany. It is not over until we are under the showers. We won't give away anything."
