Manchester United winger Facundo Pellistri is set to leave the club in January, according to the Uruguayan's agent.

The 20-year-old signed for the club in 2020 but is yet to have made an appearance for the Red Devils.

Nevertheless, Pellistri has amassed significant game time at senior level while out on loan.

The winger spent two seasons on loan at Alaves where he made 35 appearances in all competitions, yet failed to record a single goal or assist.

Pellistri’s agent, Edgardo Lasalvia, told ESPN Uruguay: "I think with a good World Cup, as we think he is going to have, his departure [from United] is imminent."

With almost three years still to run on his contract, it is unclear whether United will cash in on the young Uruguayan, or send him out on loan for more experience.

While an injury prevented Pellistri from leaving on loan over the summer and he has featured on United’s bench several times this term.

The player, who is yet to make an appearance in the club’s 17 matches across the Premier League and Europa League, admitted his desire to break into ten Hag’s side just last month.

Speaking to ESPN Pellistri said: “I am happy to play again, and now Manchester will have an important string of games, so I also hope to get minutes at the club.

“Erik ten Hag is a good coach, with a very clear idea; I really want to start participating in the team."

He is behind Antony, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Elanga and Alejandro Garnacho for a wide berth in Man Utd’s starting lineup.

The Man Utd man has also featured seven times for Uruguay and is likely to be in the squad for the World Cup later this month.
