Fabrizio Romano has rated Manchester United's chances of signing Barcelona star Ansu Fati this summer - a player once dubbed as a potential successor to Lionel Messi.
Fati suffered a serious knee injury in November 2020, and was absent for 10 months. Upon his return, he suffered several setbacks throughout the 2021/22 season.
He was officially promoted to the first team by Ronald Koeman prior to the injury, and his directness, skill on the ball and goalscoring ability saw him earmarked as a future key player for Barcelona.

Despite the injuries, however, he has remained fully fit this season, although Xavi has been cautious in reintroducing him to first team football.
He has attracted the interest of several top clubs, including United - and the journalist has revealed a key advantage the Red Devils have in their pursuit.
Romano on Man Utd interest in Fati
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano revealed that United have an 'excellent' link to the player's agent - although there has been no direct contact with Barcelona as of yet.

He explained: "Man United have an excellent relationship with his agent, and that could be a point. However, at the moment, no direct contact with Ansu Fati or with Barcelona.
"But for sure, it is one of the situations to watch in the summer."
Spanish outlet Sport have claimed that Fati is unhappy with his playing time at Barcelona - meaning a summer move could be possible.
They add that the player's agent, Jorge Mendes, has been 'accumulating interest' in recent weeks.

The Spain international is not a regular in the team when all players are available, with Robert Lewandowski and Ousmane Dembele operating in the wider roles.
In Dembele's absence, however, Raphinha has filled in on the right of attack, although Fati was preferred ahead of Ferran Torres to make an impact during Barca's 3-0 win over Sevilla in La Liga on Sunday.
