"I hope..." - Player linked with Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal breaks silence over potential move to England

"I hope..." - Player linked with Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal breaks silence over potential move to England

The player has addressed the transfer rumours.

Barcelona star Ansu Fati has addressed transfer rumours linking him with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United.

The 20-year-old has been the subject of Premier League interest in recent weeks, with Fabrizio Romano confirming that all three clubs, along with Bayern Munich were 'tracking' the player ahead of a potential summer move.

The news followed reports from Spain suggesting that Fati was 'unhappy' with his playing time, having started just seven La Liga games this season.

However, the Spain international did play the majority of Barcelona's most recent 2-0 win over Cadiz, and could feature against Manchester United in their highly anticipated second leg Europa League clash on Thursday.

On United's interest specifically, Romano revealed that the club still has an 'excellent link' to Fati's agent, Jorge Mendes. The Portuguese super-agent has been working closely with United since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson's management.

Meanwhile, Arsenal were thought to have an advantage in Gabriel Martinelli, who knows the player well from his time training at the Barca academy.

Fati addresses transfer rumours

However, Fati has since addressed rumours, stating his intention is to stay at Barca "for many more years".

The winger appeared in front of the media at the closing of the 17th edition of the Sports Solidarity Stories on Monday, and when pressed on a potential move away from Barca, he said: "I’m under contract with Barcelona until June 2027 and I hope to stay here for many more years."

His comments cement reports from Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo, who state that Fati has no intention of leaving Barcelona this summer, and instead wants to stay and fight for his first team place.
