Man Utd star Alex Telles to be sold as Erik ten Hag plans ruthless cull

A Manchester United player who sparked a training ground brawl last summer is among a list of stars set to leave Old Trafford.

United boss Erik ten Hag is set to perform major surgery on his squad, as the club prepares for a season of Champions League football.

Mason Mount is said to have agreed personal terms with United (The Telegraph), while the club are also said to be keen on Harry Kane, Randal Kolo Muani and Rasmus Hojlund.

To fund such lucrative deals there will be several departures. Indeed, Sports Mail claim that a number of players are facing uncertain futures at United, with question marks hanging over Anthony Martial, Fred, Scott McTominay and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Meanwhile, it is “clear” that the likes of Phil Jones, Eric Bailly, Axel Tuanzebe, Brandon Williams, Ethan Galbraith and Alex Telles will all go.

Telles, who spent the season on loan at Europa League winners Sevilla, will likely leave the Old Trafford club this summer.

The Brazilian has endured a difficult spell at Old Trafford since a £12.9million move from Porto back in 2020.

Telles’ most notable moment since his arrival at United was when he made headlines for a reported training ground bust-up in May 2022, days after United were subjected to a 4-0 defeat by Brighton.

It was reported that United’s then-interim manager Ralf Rangnick had to intervene to stop the altercation between the Telles and Hannibal Mejbri.

At the time The Sun claimed the rest of the United squad was left “stunned” after two players got in a “full-on scrap”, while Sports Mail reported that the parties in question were Telles and Hannibal.

In the aftermath of the incident, United training was stopped and players were reportedly ordered to return to the changing rooms.
