Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho is close to agreeing a new contract at the club, according to reports.
The Argentinian burst on to the scene at Old Trafford in November, coming off the bench to score the winning goal against Fulham in a 2-1 win.
However, he has recently come under criticism for squandering two clear-cut opportunities in Manchester United's 2-2 draw with Leeds on Wednesday, leading to him being dropped for the reverse fixture on Sunday.

It didn't take long for him to make amends, coming off the bench to score his side's second goal during their 2-0 win.
Speaking after the game, Erik ten Hag revealed he had given the winger a pep talk in between games, instructing him to 'take responsibility'.
"Definitely [the perfect response], I had some talks with him about that and that is about taking responsibility," Ten Hag said.

"He had those chances but he was in the right position, the team brings him the ball.
"But also his investment - I don't want to look away from that - but once he is there on our level you have to score the goal then. Okay, not every chance can be a goal but of two, one has to be in. That is taking responsibility."
Romano provides Garnacho contract update
And now contract talks look to have progressed after respected journalist Fabrizio Romano provided an update on discussions.

The Italian tweeted: "Manchester United have already sent the new contract proposal to Alejandro Garnacho and his representatives — talks are very advanced."
"Image rights and final contract length among points discussed, but Man Utd have always been confident to get it done soon."
Having played with Cristiano Ronaldo at club level, and Lionel Messi with Argentina's national team, the youngster has a weight of expectation hanging over him.
However, speaking after Garnacho's winner against Fulham prior to the winter break, Ten Hag warned 'he had a long way to go'.

"It shows that he has the talent, a great talent but he has a long way to go," the Dutchman said.
"He has to make a big investment because it will be recognisable every time he plays.
"First, he shows the mentality you need. Under stress he's performing, he's coming in, he has an impact, he has the belief. Twice in three, four days, so that is really good.
"I'm really happy that we can bring a young player up and it shows that when players deserve it they get their chances. That is the first one but we have to bring more. He's great.

"I like that he has a big belief and that's great to work with. He likes football. He's a real pleasure."
