Man United 'agree personal terms' with Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat

Man United 'agree personal terms' with Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat

Manchester United have reportedly found an agreement with Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

Manchester United could be heading towards a second summer signing as they prepare to officially announce the arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea.

The England international has arrived at the club's Carrington training ground after United agreed to pay an initial £55 million, with a further £5 million in performance-related add-ons.

Mount could be a United player in the coming days and make his debut for the club next week when the Red Devils begin their pre-season preparations.

But United are still actively working on other deals and in a new update, it's claimed they have agreed personal terms for Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat.

The midfielder has attracted interest from the likes of Barcelona, AC Milan, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and sides in Saudi Arabia following on from a sensational World Cup.

Amrabat was one of the stars of the Qatar showpiece, producing a series of all-action midfield displays as underdogs Morocco reached the semi-finals.

And according to Italian outlet La Nazione, via Sport Witness, United are huge fans of the 26-year-old and have found an "economic agreement" with him.

It's said Fiorentina, who reached the Europa Conference League final in the 2022/23 season, want at least €30 million (£26 million) for his services ahead of Amrabat contract expiring in 2024.

He would represent a coup for United, who are reportedly happy to double his €37,000-a-week salary.

Barcelona were in for him in January but were unable to complete a deal but Amrabat looks set to leave this summer.

And the player has links to United manager Erik ten Hag as he played under him at FC Utrecht between 2015 and 2017.

Amrabat primarily operates as a defensive midfielder and would provide cover for Casemiro, whose importance to United was evident whenever he was suspended last season.

Last month, Amrabat's brother, former Watford player Nordin, hinted at a potential move to United in an interview with ESPN.

Speaking ahead of the Europa Conference League final, he said: "Of course you never know, it will be a strong competition when you see which names are going. But my brother now has the intention to play in the top, preferably in Spain or England, I think.

"Ten Hag is now looking for a striker, he wants that first. From there he will see what is possible. But I know that Ten Hag is charmed by my brother, he broke through under him and they have a good relationship, so who knows."
